RAGT's amenity grass breeding began in 1970 and has developed alongside its other main research programmes.
Several thousands of individual plants and turf plots are tested and observed every year at our research sites.
The main selection criteria are appearance, tolerance to wear, slow growth, adaptation to climatic conditions, resistance to pests and diseases, leaf density and texture and seed productivity.
